Each of Amitoufo’s (Amitabha) 48 vows induces sentient beings to be born in the bliss of the pure land of the West. By means of prostrating to Buddha and praising Buddha, one would repent and eradicate one’s and others’ sinful hindrances, make good-will wishes, conduct good deeds and build pure land on earth.
